Tensile
Structures.
Architectural membrane canopies engineered for aesthetics, wind loads, and longevity. PVDF and PTFE membranes on structural steel — parking, entrance, amphitheatre, and viewing deck applications.
What we build
in tensile.
Parking Canopies
Large-span tensile canopies for car dealerships, commercial parking, residential complexes, and public spaces. Single or multi-bay configurations.
Entrance & Walkway Canopies
Architectural tensile canopies for hotel entrances, office lobbies, hospital drop-offs, and campus walkways. Custom forms from simple barrel vaults to complex hypar shapes.
Viewing Decks & Hilltop Structures
Tensile canopy structures on elevated steel platforms — viewing decks, observation points, hilltop shelters. Designed for wind loads and dramatic visual impact.
Swimming Pool & Garden Canopies
Tensile shade structures for pools, gardens, terraces, and outdoor dining. Lightweight forms that filter light while providing weather protection.
How every tensile structure
gets delivered.
Site Survey & Form Study
We assess the site — span, height, wind exposure, drainage, anchor points. For complex forms, we discuss geometry options and their structural implications.
Structural Engineering & Drawings
Steel mast, column, and cable design with load calculations. Membrane geometry defined. Foundation loads shared with your civil team. Full shop drawings for approval.
Fixed-Price Quotation
Steel fabrication, membrane supply, hardware, installation, and crane — all in one line-item quote. The price holds through completion.
Steel Fabrication & Membrane Cutting
Steel components fabricated and surface-treated in our workshop. Membrane precision-cut and welded to the engineered pattern by the membrane manufacturer.
Site Installation & Tensioning
Steel erection first, then membrane stretched and tensioned to specification. Cable adjustments, drainage checks, and final alignment.
Handover & Documentation
As-built drawings, mill certificates, membrane manufacturer warranty, tensioning records, and maintenance guidance. Punchlist rectified before sign-off.
Membrane & steel
specifications.
Manufacturer-backed membranes. Branded structural steel. Every spec documented in your shop drawings.
Common
questions.
What is a tensile structure?
A tensile structure uses a membrane — typically PVC-coated polyester or PTFE-coated fibreglass — stretched over a steel support structure. The membrane is kept in tension (pulled taut) rather than supported by rigid framing. This allows dramatic curved shapes, large spans with minimal steel, and excellent light transmission.
How long does installation take?
A standard single-canopy tensile structure takes 10-15 working days from approved drawings to completion — including steel fabrication, membrane cutting, site erection, and tensioning. Multi-bay or complex installations take 3-4 weeks. We share a week-by-week schedule at kickoff.
What maintenance is required?
Minimal. PVDF membranes are self-cleaning in rain. We recommend an annual visual inspection and gentle wash with mild detergent every 2-3 years. No painting, no re-coating. We include a maintenance guide in the handover documentation.
Can tensile structures withstand heavy rain and wind?
Yes. Every tensile structure is engineered for the specific wind and rain loads at your location. The membrane is pre-tensioned to prevent flutter and pooling. Drainage is designed into the geometry. We design to IS 875 wind load standards.
What's the difference between PVDF and PTFE membranes?
PVDF (on polyester base) is the standard choice — good strength, 10-year manufacturer warranty, cost-effective. PTFE (on fibreglass base) is premium — superior durability, 25-year warranty, better UV resistance, self-cleaning. PTFE costs roughly 2-3× more than PVDF.
Do you provide engineering drawings?
Yes. Every project includes detailed shop drawings with load calculations, foundation design, cable sizing, and connection details. Drawings are delivered within 48 hours of site survey and approved before fabrication begins.
What warranties apply?
Membrane manufacturers provide their own warranties — 10 years for PVDF, 25 years for PTFE. Coating manufacturers provide warranties on the steel finish. We pass these through transparently in your handover documentation and assist with any claims.
Have a project?
Let's engineer it.
Share your drawings or describe your project. We'll visit the site, prepare shop drawings, and send a transparent engineering quote — material, labour, finishing, and installation — within 48 hours. No obligations.
