Spiral
Staircases.
Custom-radius spiral staircases in mild steel and stainless steel 304 — engineered for tight residential openings, dramatic showroom features, and outdoor terrace access. Every spiral is factory-built with precise angular tread spacing before site installation.
Where spiral staircases
make sense.
Residential Compact Spaces
Spiral stairs for duplexes, lofts, and independent houses where a straight-run staircase won't fit. Minimum 600mm radius for tight floor openings.
Retail & Showroom Feature Stairs
Architecturally prominent spirals in SS 304 with glass or cable railing for showrooms, cafes, and boutique retail. Larger radii for comfortable traffic flow.
Outdoor Terrace Access
External spiral stairs for roof terrace access, duplex balconies, and garden levels. Hot-dip galvanized MS or SS 316 for weather resistance.
How every spiral staircase
gets delivered.
Site Measurement & Space Analysis
We measure the floor opening, headroom, landing positions, and structural support conditions. Every spiral is constrained by available diameter — we work within your space.
Radius & Rise Calculation
Central column position, tread count, rotation angle, and going per tread calculated to meet building code requirements. Headroom clearance verified at every rotation point.
Shop Drawings & Quote
Detailed fabrication drawings showing every tread dimension, railing profile, weld detail, and surface finish. Fixed-price quotation with no mid-project surprises.
Material Procurement
MS or SS 304 sourced from certified stockists. Pipe sections for the central column, plates for treads, flats or pipes for railings — all with material certificates.
Factory Fabrication
Treads welded to the central column at precise angular intervals. Railing formed and fitted in the shop. Complete staircase trial-assembled before dispatch to ensure alignment.
Site Installation & Finishing
Staircase delivered in sections or as a single unit depending on site access. Installed, levelled, anchored, and finished. Tread infill (wood, stone, or checker plate) fitted on-site.
Technical
details.
Every dimension is locked in shop drawings before we cut steel. Your staircase is trial-assembled in our workshop to verify fit.
Common
questions.
How much floor space does a spiral staircase need?
A spiral staircase needs a circular floor opening. The minimum practical diameter is about 1.3m (600mm radius) for a one-person staircase. For comfortable two-way traffic, we recommend 1.6m to 2m diameter. The floor opening must be circular or square — we provide exact cutout dimensions during the drawing stage.
Are spiral staircases safe for daily use?
Yes, when properly engineered. We design treads with consistent going (the usable width at the walking line), appropriate rise height (typically 200-220mm), and handrails at both sides or the outer edge. Non-slip tread surfaces — checker plate, grooved stone, or anti-slip nosing — are standard. The structure meets IS 1641 staircase safety requirements.
Can I get a custom railing design?
Absolutely. We fabricate railings in SS pipe, MS flat bar, MS tube with vertical/horizontal infill, cable railing, glass panels with SS standoffs, or ornamental wrought-iron patterns. We work from your architect's design or propose options during the drawing stage. Railing height is 900-1000mm as per code.
What is the minimum and maximum radius you can fabricate?
Minimum practical radius is 550-600mm (measured to the outer edge of the central column to the outer tread edge). Maximum is limited only by headroom and structural support — we have fabricated spirals up to 2m radius for commercial feature stairs. Larger radii are more comfortable but need a bigger floor opening.
How long does fabrication and installation take?
Typically 3-4 weeks from drawing approval to installation. Simple MS spirals with standard treads can be faster. Complex SS spirals with glass railing or stone treads take 4-5 weeks due to additional fitting and finishing. We confirm the timeline in the quotation.
