We don't offer an open-ended warranty on fabrication — the industry-standard approach of vague multi-year promises that nobody honours is exactly the problem we're fixing. What we do commit to:
Handover & Documentation | HOW Fabrication
Most fabricators finish the last weld and disappear. We don't. Here's what a HOW Fabrication handover actually includes — and why it matters.
Every project handover delivers the following
As-built drawings
Final drawings showing the structure as installed, including any site-level modifications from the original shop drawings. For structural projects, these are the drawings your building records need.
Mill test certificates
Material certificates for all primary steel sections used on the project, traceable to batch and mill. Proof of what was actually installed, not what was quoted.
Weld procedure records
For structural welds, documentation of the welding procedure followed, weld inspection where applicable, and welder qualification records.
Coating and finish documentation
Manufacturer specifications and warranties for powder coat, PU paint, galvanization, and any specialty coatings applied. Claims can be made directly with manufacturers, supported by us.
Tensile membrane documentation
For tensile projects, manufacturer warranties on membrane (typically 10 years for PVDF, 25 years for PTFE), tensioning records, and maintenance guidance.
Installation sign-off and punchlist
Written record of installation completion, any punchlist items identified, and rectification confirmation. We don't treat a project as complete until you sign off on the punchlist.
Project manager contact for post-installation queries
Your project manager remains reachable for technical queries, manufacturer warranty coordination, and any issues that arise post-handover.
What we commit to after handover
Manufacturer warranty support
If a coating peels, a membrane tears, or a finish fails within its manufacturer warranty period, we help you make the claim — documentation, coordination with the manufacturer, and reinstallation support.
Execution defect rectification
If something we installed fails because of execution defects attributable to our work — a weld cracks, a joint loosens, an installation is out of alignment — we rectify at our cost. This commitment is documented in your handover and has no arbitrary time limit.
Consultation for future modifications
If your project needs modification later — extension, repair, adaptation — we'll consult on it, whether we do the work or hand off to another team.
