Architectural
Staircases.
MS and SS staircases — residential duplexes, commercial lobbies, fire escapes, industrial mezzanine access. Every staircase engineered from shop drawings with precise riser-tread geometry, load calculations, and railing details. Fixed-price quotes. No site improvisation.
What we build
in architectural steel.
Residential Staircases
Duplex and triplex internal staircases, villa feature staircases, penthouse access. Designed to match interior themes — minimal MS with wood treads, or full SS with glass railings.
Commercial Staircases
Office lobbies, showroom feature stairs, hotel atriums, co-working spaces. Statement staircases engineered for heavy foot traffic with premium finishes — glass balustrades, SS handrails, stone treads.
External Access Staircases
Fire escape staircases, terrace access, external building access. Hot-dip galvanized or powder-coated for weather resistance. Designed to NBC fire safety norms with anti-slip treads and proper landing dimensions.
Industrial Mezzanine Access
Factory and warehouse mezzanine access staircases. Heavy-duty MS construction with chequered plate treads, pipe railings, and kick plates. Designed for industrial loads and safety compliance.
How every staircase
gets delivered.
Site Measurement & Assessment
We measure floor-to-floor height, available footprint, slab openings, and headroom clearance. Wall conditions and fixing points assessed. Existing finishes documented for interface detailing.
Design & Shop Drawings
Complete shop drawings with stringer profiles, tread dimensions, riser heights, railing details, connection plates, and anchor locations. Every weld, bolt, and bracket specified. Architect coordination included.
Fixed-Price Quotation
Itemized quote — material weight, section sizes, tread material, railing type, surface finish, transport, and installation. The price holds. No surprises after fabrication starts.
Material Procurement & Preparation
MS plates, SS sheets (304/316), pipes, flats — sourced from branded mills with test certificates. CNC plasma/laser cutting of stringers and tread support brackets to exact profiles.
Factory Fabrication & Finishing
Stringer assembly, tread bracket welding, railing fabrication — all in controlled factory conditions. Grinding, surface prep, primer/topcoat or SS mirror polish completed before dispatch.
Site Installation & Handover
Our fabrication team installs. Stringer anchoring, tread fitting, railing alignment, glass panel installation if specified. Final inspection, touch-up, and handover with as-built drawings.
Technical
details.
Every dimension, material grade, and finish is locked in your shop drawings before fabrication begins. Nothing left to guesswork.
Common
questions.
What is the difference between MS and SS staircases?
MS (Mild Steel) staircases are more economical and are finished with powder coating, PU paint, or hot-dip galvanizing. They work well for internal residential stairs, industrial access, and external staircases where the finish is painted. SS (Stainless Steel — 304 or 316 grade) staircases have a natural corrosion-resistant finish, require no painting, and suit premium interiors, coastal environments, and food/pharma facilities. SS 304 handles most indoor and sheltered outdoor applications; SS 316 is specified for marine or chemical exposure. Cost difference is roughly 2.5-3x for SS over MS.
What are the standard dimensions for a residential staircase?
For a comfortable residential staircase, we typically work with a riser height of 150-175mm, tread depth of 250-300mm, and minimum clear width of 900mm (1000mm preferred). Headroom clearance must be minimum 2100mm throughout. Landing length equals at least the staircase width. These comply with NBC 2016 guidelines. For duplex apartments with space constraints, we can design tighter geometries down to 750mm width and 200mm risers, though comfort reduces. All dimensions are confirmed in shop drawings before fabrication.
How long does a staircase project take from measurement to installation?
A standard residential staircase (straight flight or L-shaped) takes 3-4 weeks total: 2-3 days for site measurement and drawing, 3-4 days for drawing approval and revisions, 12-15 days for fabrication, and 1-2 days for installation. Complex designs (helical, curved, cantilevered treads) add 1-2 weeks for fabrication. External fire escape staircases with galvanizing add 4-5 days for the HDG process. We provide a project-specific timeline in the quotation.
Can you fabricate to match an architect's specific design?
Yes — this is how most of our premium residential and commercial projects work. The architect provides concept drawings or 3D renders, and we engineer the structure to achieve that design. We handle the translation from aesthetic intent to fabrication reality — stringer profiles, connection details, material selection, glass fixing methods, concealed fasteners. We share shop drawings with the architect for approval before fabrication. If a design detail is structurally impractical, we propose alternatives that preserve the visual intent.
What load capacity do your staircases support?
Residential staircases are designed for minimum 3 kN/m2 live load per IS 875 Part 2. Commercial and public staircases are designed for 5 kN/m2. Industrial access staircases handle higher loads based on specific requirements. Additionally, railings are designed for a horizontal point load of 0.75 kN at the top rail per IS 875. All load calculations are documented and can be certified by a structural engineer if required by local authorities.
What railing and balustrade options are available?
We fabricate four main railing types: (1) Glass balustrade with SS top rail — 12mm toughened glass panels in SS shoe channels or standoff fittings, (2) SS pipe/tube railing — 38mm or 50mm diameter SS 304 pipes with horizontal or vertical infill bars, (3) MS flat bar railing — flat bars welded in geometric patterns, powder coated, (4) MS pipe railing with glass — combination systems. Glass panels are always 12mm toughened safety glass. All railings meet the 1050mm minimum height requirement for residential and 1100mm for commercial.
